Who this applies to

This policy applies to Salon Operators who buy a paid plan for a salon they manage.

Customers and Barbers never pay Cutz anything. If you are a customer looking for a haircut or a barber running a queue, nothing in this document applies to you.

This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and uses the definitions set out there.

Plain-English summary

  • Plans are per salon, billed monthly in advance, and renew automatically until you cancel.
  • There is a free plan, and a one-time 30-day trial of the top plan for each salon.
  • Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not end the period you have already paid for — you keep the plan until it expires.
  • Upgrades take effect immediately, and the value left on your old plan is carried across as extra days on the new one. We do not refund the difference in cash.
  • Downgrades happen at the end of your paid period, not in the middle of it.
  • Refunds are limited. We refund duplicate or mistaken charges, charges taken after you cancelled, and a first-time subscription cancelled within 7 days if you have not used a paid feature. Otherwise, prepaid periods are not refundable.
  • If we shut the service down, you get the unused portion back.

1. Plans and prices

1.1 The plans below are the plans available as at the date of this policy. The prices and limits shown in the Cutz Salon app at the time you buy are the ones that apply to your purchase.

PlanPrice per monthBarber limitWhat it adds
Free₦03Salon listing, add barbers, live queue
Starter₦2,5008Salon insights; up to 8 barbers
Premium₦6,000UnlimitedHigher search ranking, unlimited barbers, job vacancy posts, AI salon manager
Premium Plus₦20,000UnlimitedTop search priority, premium badge, Google Business Profile sync, centralised insights across your salons

1.2 Currency. All prices are in Nigerian naira (₦). We do not currently bill in any other currency.

1.3 Taxes. Prices are shown in naira as displayed in the Cutz Salon app — that is the amount you pay for the plan period. We do not currently add Value Added Tax (VAT) as a separate line at checkout. Paystack’s payment-processing fees are a cost of accepting payment and are separate from VAT; whether we absorb those fees or not does not change the plan price shown to you. If we later become required or choose to charge VAT (or any other applicable tax), we will update the price display or show tax separately and give notice under section 11. You remain responsible for tax obligations arising from your own salon business.

1.4 Per salon. A subscription covers one salon. If you own several salons, each needs its own plan. Centralised features across multiple salons require every salon in the group to be on the plan that includes them.

1.5 Features may be marked "coming soon". Some capabilities included in a plan may be shown as coming soon while the underlying integration is being completed. We label these clearly in the app. Do not buy a plan solely for a feature marked coming soon — see clause 14.5 of the Terms of Service.

2. The Free plan

2.1 The Free plan costs nothing and does not expire. It supports a salon listing, up to 3 barbers, and the live queue.

2.2 We may change what the Free plan includes on 30 days' notice. We will not reduce it in a way that makes an existing free salon listing unusable without offering a reasonable alternative.

3. The trial

3.1 Each salon may start one trial, once, ever. Trials are opt-in — we never start one automatically when you create a salon.

3.2 The trial gives you Premium Plus features for 30 days, with these limits:

  • a maximum of 16 barbers during the trial, rather than unlimited;
  • the premium badge and Google Business Profile sync are not included, because those are customer-facing trust signals reserved for paying salons.

3.3 We will remind you 3 days before the trial ends.

3.4 No card is required to start a trial, and a trial does not convert into a paid plan automatically. When the trial ends, the salon returns to the Free plan unless you have bought a paid plan.

3.5 After the trial ends there is a 7-day grace period during which some trial capabilities may continue to work while you decide. Do not rely on the grace period; treat the trial end date as the real deadline.

3.6 We may withdraw or shorten a trial where we reasonably believe it is being abused — for example, creating duplicate salon listings to obtain repeated trials.

4. Buying a plan

4.1 You buy a plan in the Cutz Salon app. Payment is processed by Paystack. We support card payment and bank transfer.

4.2 You buy a defined period — normally one month — and pay for it in advance. Your plan is active from the moment payment is confirmed until the expiry date shown in the app.

4.3 Bank transfer payments are not instant. Your plan activates when Paystack confirms the transfer to us. If a transfer is not completed, the purchase lapses and no plan is activated.

4.4 We will send you a payment record for each successful charge. You can see your payment history in the Cutz Salon app.

4.5 We share your email address with Paystack so it can identify your transaction. If your account has no email address, we generate a placeholder address for that purpose. See the Privacy Policy.

5. Renewal

5.1 Plans renew automatically. Unless you cancel, your plan continues from period to period.

5.2 If you saved a card, we will attempt to charge it automatically in the days leading up to your expiry date — currently starting 2 days before — so that a declined card can be retried before the plan lapses. By saving a card you authorise these recurring charges until you remove the card or cancel.

5.3 If you did not save a card, nothing is charged automatically. Your plan will simply expire on its expiry date unless you make another payment.

5.4 Renewal stacks. If you renew the same plan before it expires, the new period is added to the end of your current period. You do not lose the days you have already paid for.

5.5 Grace period. If a renewal payment has not gone through by your expiry date, your paid features continue for a 7-day grace period while we retry. If payment still has not succeeded at the end of the grace period, the salon drops to the Free plan.

5.6 What happens when a plan lapses. Your salon listing and live queue keep working on the Free plan. Paid features stop. If you have more barbers than the Free plan allows, see section 8.

6. Changing plan

6.1 Upgrades take effect immediately. When you upgrade mid-period, we calculate the value remaining on your current plan and convert it into additional days on the new plan. The new plan starts straight away.

6.2 We do not give cash refunds or price proration on an upgrade. The remaining value carries across as time, not money.

6.3 Downgrades take effect at the end of your current period. We deliberately block mid-period downgrades so you do not throw away value you have already paid for. Cancel the automatic renewal and buy the lower plan when the current period ends, or contact hello@cutz.ng if you need help.

6.4 A trial cannot be downgraded; let it run out or buy a paid plan.

7. Cancelling

7.1 You can cancel automatic renewal at any time in the Cutz Salon app, or by emailing hello@cutz.ng from the address on your account.

7.2 Cancelling stops future charges. It does not end your current period. You keep the plan you paid for until its expiry date, and then the salon moves to the Free plan.

7.3 Removing a saved card also stops automatic renewal.

7.4 Closing your Cutz account does not automatically cancel a subscription. Cancel the subscription first.

7.5 If you sell or close your salon, cancel the subscription and update or remove the listing. You remain responsible for charges properly raised before you cancel.

8. Plan limits and what happens when you exceed them

8.1 Each plan caps the number of barbers a salon can have. If your plan ends or you downgrade and you have more barbers than the new plan allows, we will:

(a) warn you in the app before the change takes effect;

(b) give you the opportunity to remove barbers yourself; and

(c) if you do not, deactivate access for barbers above the limit, starting with the most recently added.

8.2 Deactivated barbers keep their own Cutz accounts and their rating history. They simply cannot operate a queue at your salon until you free up capacity or upgrade.

8.3 We will not delete your salon data because of a downgrade. Historical data remains, and features that read it are restored if you upgrade again.

9. Failed payments

9.1 If a payment fails, we will notify you and retry within the window described in section 5.

9.2 You are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file if you want uninterrupted service. A card that has expired, been blocked, or has insufficient funds will fail.

9.3 We do not charge a late fee. The consequence of non-payment is simply that the plan lapses to Free.

9.4 We may suspend paid features immediately, without waiting for the grace period, where we reasonably believe a payment was fraudulent.

10. Refunds

This is the section people read. Please read it before you buy.

10.1 The general rule

Subscription fees are paid in advance for a defined period and are not refundable, because you cancel by stopping the next renewal rather than by requesting money back.

10.2 When we do refund

We will refund you in these situations:

SituationWhat you get
Duplicate charge — you were charged twice for the same periodFull refund of the duplicate
Charge after cancellation — we billed you after you validly cancelledFull refund of that charge
Wrong amount — you were charged more than the price displayed at checkoutRefund of the difference
First-time cooling-off — this is the salon's first ever paid subscription, you cancel within 7 days of the first payment, and you have not used a paid-only capability during that timeFull refund
Extended failure — the Services, or a paid feature you are paying for, are unavailable for a continuous period of more than 72 hours in a billing month for reasons within our controlAt our option, a service credit or a pro-rata refund for the affected days
We discontinue the ServicesPro-rata refund of the unused portion, under clause 16.5 of the Terms of Service
The law requires itAs required

10.3 When we do not refund

  • Change of mind after the 7-day first-time window.
  • You did not use the service, or used it less than you expected.
  • You downgraded, or you have unused capacity such as barber slots.
  • You closed or sold your salon part-way through a paid period.
  • Your access was suspended or terminated because you breached the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Outages caused by your own internet connection, device, network operator, or a third-party platform outside our control.
  • Features labelled beta, preview, or coming soon that changed, were delayed, or were withdrawn.
  • Dissatisfaction with results — for example, that you did not gain as many customers as you hoped. Cutz gives you visibility and tools; it does not guarantee business outcomes.

10.4 How to request a refund

Email hello@cutz.ng from the address on your account with your salon name, the transaction reference, the date, and what happened. We will respond within 7 business days and, where a refund is due, process it within 14 business days of approval.

10.5 How refunds are paid

Refunds go back through Paystack to the original payment method wherever possible. Where that is not possible, we will refund to a Nigerian bank account you nominate, in naira. We do not refund in cash, in credit to a third party, or in any other currency.

10.6 Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than your bank. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may result in the affected salon's paid features being suspended until the matter is resolved. If a chargeback is decided in our favour, we may recover reasonable costs incurred.

11. Price changes

11.1 We may change our prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before a price change affects you, by email and in the app.

11.2 A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

11.3 If you do not accept a new price, cancel before your next renewal date. Continuing after the notice period means you accept the new price.

11.4 Promotional or introductory pricing applies only for the period stated. When it ends, the standard price applies at your next renewal, and we will tell you before that happens.

11.5 Early adopter commitments. Where we have promised a salon a specific plan free or at a fixed price for a defined introductory period, we will honour that promise for that period. It does not continue indefinitely, and we will tell you before it ends.

12. Suspension for non-payment or breach

12.1 We may suspend paid features where an amount is unpaid after the grace period, or where the Terms of Service allow suspension.

12.2 Suspension for breach does not entitle you to a refund of the current period.

12.3 If we suspend a salon in error, we will restore it promptly and extend your paid period by the time lost.

13. Records and invoices

13.1 Payment records are available in the Cutz Salon app.

13.2 If you need a formal invoice or receipt for accounting purposes, email hello@cutz.ng with the transaction reference.

13.3 We retain payment records for 6 years to meet tax and company record-keeping obligations. See the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes take effect on at least 14 days' notice, and price changes on at least 30 days' notice as set out in section 11. The current version is always at cutz.ng/legal/billing.
